While we were gone, our little girl reached a milestone. The Roo is a whole seven months old now! We decided to have a teeny tiny party for her after returning home. Younger daughter made Roo a birthday crown out of a ponytail holder and bobby pins to wear.
I swear she was wearing it before the camera came out.
Perhaps Ruby got the birthday crown confused with the birthday cake.
We ended up settling for a birthday feather wig instead.
"Enough with the head gear. Get a wiggle on with the cake already!"
Did someone say cake?
Looks scrumptious, doesn't it?
"HEY!! Who stuck Ruby's toys on the cake????"
"Mmmmmm.... Smells like chicken."
"Tastes a bit like sparkle ball, though."
"Oh, THAT'S BETTER!!! Now it TASTES like chicken too!!!"
"Who invited YOU, old man??? This is RUBY'S cake!!!!!"
Norm: "Oh nom, nom, nom..."
Look at the destruction that Norman wrought on Ruby's plate.
She's ever so much daintier than he.
"Someone should have told him that it was RUBY'S birthday! Harrumph!"

If you will indulge us with dogs for one more day, Charlie would like to tell you all about his vacation tomorrow.

Also.... Mama Clarice is still looking for her forever home!! Please share the link if you're so inclined. Our girl has been here far too long!
Kelly-glad you're back and had a great vacation. I enjoy Rubys and Charlies and Normans-chihuahuas not so much. Happy birthday Ruby!
ReplyDeleteTo each her own. I prefer Rubys and Charlies and Normans myself, but I am pretty proud of those chihuahua and terrier pics never-the-less. In fact, there might me an interesting announcement in regards to them later this week. ;)
DeleteOh the puppies were cute but glad to see Ruby Roo and Norman enjoying "their" cake. Can't wait to hear Charlie's "what I did on my spring break" essay!
ReplyDeleteHe's editing furiously at this very moment, chewed up yellow pencil stuck between his teeth and everything.
DeleteLove Norman's paw on the plate telling the whipper-snapper to move over. :)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to Charlie's vacation adventures.
Norm always holds his plate down, but he was most definitely blocking Roo from the food this time around. He demolished that plate in no time.
DeleteUm.. Ruby.. There is something you should know.. about birthdays.. well birthdays.. they are for sharing.. A birthday by yourself is not nearly as much fun as a birthday with others, and with that comes the sharing of the cake.. and the wearing of crowns..
ReplyDelete:)
Old man Norman has a thing or four to learn about sharing himself. That's why he started out the festivities in the bathroom.
DeletePerhaps old man Norm thinks that old guys get to do whatever they want, particularly old guys with dodgy tummies! Looking forward to Charlie's report. And belated congratulations to young Ruby -- she so lucked out in the family department.
DeleteHa... One way I know that Norman is feeling better is that he is inserting himself into every food situation once more (although he's still a bit "aromatic")
DeleteHappy Birthday to Ruby Roo! If she gets chicken cake for 7 months, whatever will she get when she turns a year old???
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid to even ponder it, especially since it will be double party. Ruby's first birthday is also Charlie's "gotcha" day :)
DeleteOh Miss Ruby Roo, we are so sorry we missed your birthday! You looked bee-u-tee-full in that feather wig and your cake looked nom-o-licious! (We're glad Norman didn't hog it all). So happy belated from your friends up north...
