An Update!

I am out delivering two beautiful kittens to their forever homes as this post publishes. I'll tell you more about the experience tomorrow, but while you wait... an update!

I just wanted to forward a couple of pictures for you. One picture is of Graham (now known as Ralphie) the day after he was fixed. He was totally pooped and seemingly found a comfortable spot between some shoes. The other picture shows him in his new perch which he loves so much!

He is doing really well. He is so loving, follows me where ever I go, including the shower. He also wakes me up at 5:00 a.m. (not so loving but we are working on that). He still pounces a lot on my older female cat but he seems to slowly be learning what "no" means. He purrs non-stop and I swear I can hear him from a room away! We are all settling in nicely and love him to death!

Okay, let's do a head count. Did we lose anyone from the swoon? Chris? Do we have to pick you up from the floor? ;-)

I love updates (almost as much as I love the kittens they are about!) Thanks for a great one and for taking such good care of our boy.

I'll be back tomorrow with his sisters' goodbye stories.

An Update To Start Your Week

We took Garnet and Belle to another adoption event this weekend. While adoptions have slowed down slightly due to end-of-summer and back-to-school family plans, our two girls have received quite a bit of positive attention. No decisions have been made, but our girls are "showing" nicely... even though Miss Garnet is a bit nervous and scared about the whole experience.

"If they can't see Garnet, they can't touch Garnet and Garnet can go back home... okay?"

Yes, she tucked herself in there. I saw her do it.

"Belle might sleep more comfortably if this bed would stop moving already...
grumble, grumble."

The surprising thing about the girls at the store? Garnet has gone from my self-assured, adventuresome acrobat to my nervous little girl. Belle has remained much more steady in her demeanor. She's calm and even-keeled and purring and willing to be held... And Garnet is STILL getting the clear majority of the attention. Harrumph.

Perhaps next time I'll paint an orange splotch on Belle's head too ;)

I teased you on Facebook last week about another update and then completely forgot that I had it while running around like a crazy mom at back-to-school time (Oh wait... I *am* a crazy mom at back-to-school time! Anyway...)

We've got a Graham Cracker Update!

His new mom sent the kitten catcher a great story that I just wanted to share with you:

We have had to officially kick Ralphie out of our room at night. He spends all night chasing his tail, round and round he goes on the bed, bumping into us at every turn. He has also been using our stomachs as trampolines, bouncing from one to the other. He likes to sit at the top of my pillow, basically on top of my head, and play with the light from my phone. He thinks he is an acrobat and tries to swing from the curtains. Two nights ago, he rammed himself into my bookshelf causing ten books to fall on the floor. I find myself crying because I am laughing so hard on the inside, trying not to wake (my husband) up. When he does wake up, he looks at me and asks why I am crying and all I can say is, "that kitten is completely insane, but so cute at the same time."

He is RIDICULOUS! But oh so cute!!!!

By the way... I've heard that he's talked his way back into the bedroom already. Hee hee hee

He's working his magic on his big sister too.

All Star updates coming tomorrow along with (hopefully) a return to normalcy around here.

A Gift For You

How did I not notice this before????

The ever-astute Connie (otherwise known as the fabulous author of Tails From The Foster Kittens) pointed out that Garnet's awesome orange belly spots are the in the shape of a heart.

Can't unsee it now, can you? I know that I can't. Garnet is saving up her love and her heart for a very special still-unknown family. We're lucky she's letting us get a sneak peek at it. Consider it her gift to you.

****************************************

We have another gift in today's post. Last month, I received an amazing gift from my dear friend Wendy. Wendy's husband and my husband were stationed in Germany at the same time in the late 1990s. We lived in the same stairwell apartment building on Ramstein Air Base. Our sons were born four days apart from each other. (I may or may not still be carrying a grudge that her son was born on my due date and I had to wait for an extra four days, but that's an entirely different story).

Wendy has a love of sewing, while her husband is a fantastic woodworker. They have left military life behind and have a great little business on the side. This little project started as a bed for American Girl dolls:

But then her cat completely took over.

I showed Wendy a photo of what our original foster kitty Tommy used to do in the authentic American Girl doll beds.

An idea was born and the prototype arrived in my house as a very special gift last month.

It's now a cat bed, complete with cat-themed bedding and catnip pillows.

To say they love it would be an understatement.

Why, yes... I was singing "No More Monkeys Jumping On The Bed" when I took this photo. Why do you ask?

I'm pretty sure this is the last time a pillow was ever on that bed.

Belle has redecorated again.

Wendy's fabulous creation is available in her Etsy story by following this link: http://www.etsy.com/listing/154013659/cat-or-toy-dog-farm-style-bed?ref=shop_home_active  They build the beds as they are ordered, so you know that your kitty's bed will be made especially for them :)

If you are interested in one of these fabulous creations, Wendy is offering a discount for you lucky Whiskers In The Window readers. Use the code CATBEDRESCUE for $10 off through August 31st.

Also, she will make a donation to her local rescue for every bed sold. It's a win-win-win situation. Wendy builds her business. You get a fabulous cat bed. Shelter kitties benefit. Hooray!!

"Love and Cuteness Overload!"

You just know the update is going to be good when you hear that those words were in the subject line of the e-mail message :)

"Do I look cute to you? CUTE? I'm a big boy!"

My friend received a quick update from Graham (now Ralphie's) family. Apparently, the transition is going well :)  They can't get enough of him. He started off by hiding under the bed, but has gotten over his shyness. He's playing and snuggling and giving kisses and even demanding attention from the company. His big sister kitty is anxious to meet him and he can't wait to get out of the bedroom to see her either.

Mission Tame-the-Feral-Kitten Accomplished (at least for Round 1 of the current assignment)

*****************************************

Oh, and this happened too...

True, Belle was chasing the shoelace when she climbed into a lap all by herself. But then she stayed a while.

"Not.Sure.Belle.Likes.This!!! Oh... Okay... Purrrrrrrrrrr"

That makes Round 2 and 3 nearly complete as well. The girls are getting friendlier and friendlier now that their big brother isn't around to hog all of the attention.

I'll begin adoption bios tomorrow with Miss Garnet. Stay tuned.

One more update...

Thanks Einstein and Norman...

Your garden is beautiful. Keep up the good work.

Bye Bye Baby

Yes, my friends... Graham has left the building. Our sweet, fuzzy, marbled, ginger boy left the nest on Friday evening.

For those of you who don't know, Graham has been "spoken for" since before he ever stepped foot in Teeny Tiny Tabby Town. His new mama knows our feral kitten catcher out in the real world and had mentioned that her family was ready to add a new baby to the family. She asked if there were kittens available. She hoped there was an orange boy. We showed her a picture. It was love at first sight.

Graham has a kitty sister and a human sister at his new house, along with a mom and dad who love him like crazy. They have been watching his exploits on the blog while anxiously awaiting the time that he was both healthy and tamed. Our boy became a complete lovebug during his time here... greeting me at the door and demanding snuggles (and when he didn't get them right away, he resorted to ankle rubs and toe licks!) I heard he was purring upon arrival at his new home.

He's come a long way, baby.

Happy life, dumpling.

*****************************************

There are two more members of the Mayweather clan who are rapidly approaching their time to leave the nest. Without their big brother around to distract attention from them, the girls are coming even more out of their shells. Garnet approaches me as I enter the room and accepts cuddles regularly. She even climbed into a lap all on her very own yesterday! It won't be long before she's brave enough to take her forever family by storm.

Belle's still holding out a bit on us. But she's coming around. I'd say one more week tops and she'll be as brave as her sister.

There have been a couple of inquiries about adopting our girls, but neither situation came to fruition. If you or anyone you know is interested in one or both of these tiny tabbies, you can reach me through the blog, through the Facebook inbox, or a teenytinytabbies AT gmail DOT com.

I plan to put together a blog post for Monday night with lots of photos and bios of each girl... perfect for sharing ;)  Stay tuned.

Myles is still in foster at the vet clinic. They're hoping to have a home for him by this Thursday. Click here for more information.

A Box of Golden Graham

Oh, that Golden Graham...

Oh, that Golden Graham...

"That's enough singing, Lady. Just make Graham get out of the box now."

"Seriously... it's been Belle's turn for, like, EVER!"

"Belle's turn, Belle's turn, Belle's TUR-RNNNNN!
Belle shall use the force to get her way."

"These are not the kittens you're looking for? How will THAT help?"

"Belle's not sure HOW it works. It just does."

"Don't hate Belle for being brilliant... and beautiful."

"And don't go away mad either..."

"Just go away. Belle needs a nap."

*************************************************

And when Graham grows up...

He can only hope to be as handsome as Mr. Simba.

Seriously, he's a stud muffin.

No wonder the Roo has a thing for him.
