The Brothers Jefferson

This Blows!  The storm update from the fringes of Sandy in Michigan.... Rain all day Monday and winds overnight reaching 50 mph.  Our grill blew off the back patio yesterday afternoon (okay... the wind pushed it off the patio, but it sounds more fun the first way).  My front patio furniture is in the foyer.  My back patio furniture is in my kitchen.  I know it was time to winterize and get things stored, but this wasn't how I intended it.  Taking Charlie outside was an adventure.  The sounds outside my windows were eerie and frightening.  And we're in MICHIGAN.  Today is supposed to be the worst of it for us.  Wondering about sending my kids out to the bus stop this morning, but I certainly don't want to drive in this (and my son has a football game this afternoon!).  I can't imagine how nerve-wracking this must be for our friends on the east coast.  Please let us know how you are doing if you can.  Sending thoughts, prayers, and hugs to anyone who needs it.

The Brothers Jefferson

Those handsome hunks of manhood...
the trouble-making crew of the foster room...
are always up to something (not always good).
 See?
 Ouch!
(Lionel tongue!)
 Naughty...
Yet so cute that you're willing to overlook the naughtiness.
Wonder if it's too early to tell them about Santa?
"Wait... you have a problem with Lionel climbing your leg?"
"Perhaps the Lady should just deal with it."
"Yeah, Lady.... cuteness comes with a price."
"WHAT???  We weren't doing anything!!!!"
(This time...)

Our crazy boys are absolutely the friendliest kittens in the foster room.  The first ones to greet me at the door... dropping whatever they're doing, flying to my side, demanding hugs, climbing in my lap as soon as I sit down, riding my shoulder as I walk around the room, riding the broom as I sweep, untying my shoe, using said shoe as a scratching post.  I love these boys... not sure how to let either of them go (and not sure I can deprive some other family of them either)

Did I mention that someone is getting particularly good at escaping the foster room?

And when you leave the foster room, you're bound to meet new friends.
Even if you're not so certain they are friends yet.
Or if they aren't so certain that they want to meet you.

  1. Adorable kitties is exactly what we all need to get us through this nasty storm. We had lots of wind and rain but we are good. No damage that can be seen from my cozy recliner as I type this. We still have power and kids home from school. I think things will be back to normal tomorrow. My dad in CT got hit pretty bad though-trees are down and power is out. Send thoughts there-thanks! Stay safe and teach Charlie to use the litter box-he is a smart dog!

    1. Glad to hear you're weathering the storm okay (ugh... I said "weathering"). Still sending good thoughts to the entire east coast.

Oh, and Charlie in the litter box? It's gross enough to scoop without Charlie-sized leavings ;-)

  2. Looks like some semi-stranger danger floofage going on in the last pictures! But who would floof up at sweet Charlie?

    1. Well, they all (except for Florence) have put on their floor suits to meet Charlie. He's been hissed at by three of them. This particular little dumpling is Lionel. I just love his bottle brush tail.

    1. Glad to hear you're doing okay. It actually stopped raining here for a while. I'll be glad if it's finally done.
