So Brave

When they're on the other side of the door...

And there's a feather teaser involved...

The trio of Mayweather babies was also quite brave at the vet clinic Tuesday.

Three examinations...

Three dewormings...

Three sets of vaccinations...

and a negative FeLeuk and FIV test result.

I know she looks tense, but she's cheering on the inside.

And now for the weights...

Graham     4 pounds, 9 ounces
Belle     4 pounds, 1 ounce
Garnet     3 pounds, 1 ounce

All at 12 weeks old.

They're huge.

And now that they're socializing a bit easier,
it's almost time to say goodbye to one of our darlings.

He will be going home in about a week and a half.

You just knew he'd be the first one to go, right?

He's actually been spoken for since before he moved in.

I couldn't resist throwing in this one... socks and all.

There's something very Awkward Family Photos about this one.

  3. Aww yay for Graham!! We've all commented on his striking coat so I'm not surprised either. I hope his new family will send us pictures as he grows up!

    1. Oh and I kept looking for "socks" on Graham's paws... Took me several more confused looks and a "what the heck is Kelly talking about" before I saw the feet! Duh!! :)

    2. SC Amy, thank you for explaining this to me. I was also kind of clueless and looking for "socks" on Graham's paws and wondering what the socks reference was all about. What a relief that I'm not the only one who is so slow on the uptake!

    3. And, to me, they're so obvious! Of course, those would be my 14-year-old son's size 12 feet (in socks). They're HUGE!

    4. Ha! I kinda thought they were the boy's, but since I have a pair of size 10 feet myself, I wasn't about to assume anything out loud! ;)

    1. Excuse me, but Graham is four and a HALF pounds! (And Garnet is a little peanut in comparison). But yes, they are HUGE.

What have I been feeding them? The same thing I feed all of my fosters. Crazy, huh?

    2. Also? When the tech first weighed Graham, she announced that he was 6 pounds, 4 ounces. I made her weigh him again.

  5. Wow, good to see they are all very healthy. A teeny bit sad to see Graham go. I saw the socks right away and now am sort of remembering key scenes in the movie Risky Business. It IS a risky business to get too attached to fosters isn't it.

    1. Thankfully the boy wearing the socks is completely dressed along with the socks (and missing the Ray Bans and air guitar)

There's a fine line between attached (which is required) and too attached (which is dangerous). It gets crossed from time to time, but the heartache is easier to manage when you know how loved the kittens are in their new homes.
