High Jump Hijinks

((Overheard often at our house lately...))

"Jailbreak!! Catch Ben!!"

"Where'd he go?"

"I don't know!"

"He's over there!"

"Where?"

"Dang, he's fast!"

Benny is such a speed demon that we had been assuming he was holding back until next week when the Olympic Track events begin.  Apparently, he's got a bit of talent in the Field part of "Track and Field" too.  

Our man Benny can jump.

He can jump high.

"Yawn" says Porter "Wake me up when he does something new."

"Oh yeah??  How about that, Porter?? Is this new enough for you?"

Henry replied, "Eh... I've seen better."

"How about this, Henry??  Will this jump do??"

"Impressive," answered Porter.  "I guess that will do."

"Oh look, he's jumping again.  Let us know when he does something new."

"The new guy is showing you boys up," said Eloise.  "Do you want him to beat you?  All you've got to do is chase the sparkly stuff when the Lady shakes her stick."

"Ooooohhhh," says Porter, "This little girl shakes a mean sparkle stick.  Go get it, Henry!"

"Okay, Girl... just reel in the sparkles and Porter will take them off the hook for you."

"PORTER!!!  That's cheating!" yelled Eloise.  "You have to catch them from the floor!!!"

"Like this?" asked Porter.

"Kind of..." coached Eloise, "Try getting up on your tiptoes."

"How about this???"

"Hmmm..." replied Eloise, "You need to get more air.  Try a bigger bounce and less Saturday Night Fever."

"Pshaw... One can never have enough Saturday Night Fever.  Watch how fast I move my arms.  

I should be dancin'... yeah!"

"Are you kidding?  Every time I make a move, someone lands on my head.  I'm moving towards higher ground.  You could ask Henry to do it.  But I think he might be too chicken...."

"CHICKEN???  Did she say chicken??"

"This tastes nothing like chicken.  I think Eloise is mistaken."
