I took the kids to downtown Rochester to check out the Christmas lights. Picture several blocks in a row of buildings covered in lights, alternating colors, and glowing against a completely black sky. I noticed a something important about Santa's sleigh while we were there. It does have the requisite number of reindeer, but the reins look like they have room for a few more reindeer. And you know what they say...
More reindeer = Faster delivery = Happier Santa = More presents for everyone!!!!!
The kittens of Teeny Tiny Tabby Town wanted to do their part to make a merrier Christmas for all, so they auditioned for the possible roles of Reindeer Number 10, 11, and 12.
Um... Charlie? I believe the casting call said "kitten".
Although you do look marvelous.
Abby was most excited to try out to become the first female reindeer to pull Santa's sleigh.
While Lincoln eagerly began composing a sequel to a traditional Christmas song.
He's calling it "Lincoln the Pink Nosed Reindeer"
Willie Rae wasn't so sure she wanted any part of these particular reindeer games.
Although... she does enjoy flying.
Can't you tell? ;-)
Someone else tried the reindeer hat on for size.
He wasn't quite so sure that this is the role for him.
"Really, Lady? You can't just let a sick and gassy old man have his dignity, can you?"
I can't help myself. He's just so.stinking.cute for a little old man.

Lincoln and Cruz went off to the vet clinic yesterday for their "tutoring" session. ((Shhhh... I still don't have the heart to tell them what really happened there)) I'm relatively certain they have yet to notice that something is different.
They came home, barreled out of the carrier, and proceeded to bounce around the foster room bunny style. Lincoln spent his afternoon trying to burrow out underneath the door while Cruz pulled all of the blankets off the furniture, dragged them around the room, and wrestled and pounced on the empty blankets as if they held a million wiggling toes.
Peeps and the babies watched with horrified expressions on their faces. Vixen may or may not have asked me to go back to the vet and get the boys' parts back. ;-)
If I were you I would sleep with one eye open by the look Norman is giving you in this photo, lol. I can see how it would be hard to resist it though, he sure does look adorable. Hope he is continuing to recover!
ReplyDeleteHe is feeling better... and improving enough that I'm springing him from solitary this morning. He's had enough of hanging out alone.
DeleteIt's amazing how long he wore those antlers. His ears were completely turned backwards the entire tire, but he kept them on.
I was talking to a potential adopter the other day about kittens (male) after surgery. I had to laugh. I told her the instructions the vet office will give you - and then assured her that the kittens bounce around like nothing ever happened.
ReplyDeleteHope Santa sees the audition photos.
These boys are crazier post-surgery than before they went in. They might view it as an improvement ;)
DeleteThey are all adorable. Tell Abby though that there are legends stating that some of Santa's reindeer throughout time may have in fact been girls because (in general) the girls retain their antlers for a longer time each year. She has a good chance :)
ReplyDeleteShe will be so excited that she has a shot after all! ;)
DeleteWell, unless Vixen has been cross-dressing, I always assumed there was at least one female reindeer pulling the sleigh! ;)
ReplyDeleteOh, Charlie and Norm made my day with their auditions!
HA! I had always assumed (through yearly watching of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer where all of Santa's reindeer were dads and other holiday propaganda) that the reindeer were all male. Abby will love having a role model to follow ;)
DeleteOh, and about Norman.... Stay tuned to future posts for more holiday fun.
I'm not sure, but I think if Santa used reindeer-kitties, no matter how many, no one would get anything because I'm pretty sure that even if he can get them to one house, they'll lay down afterwards for a nap! hee hee!
ReplyDeleteHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHA!!!!! I think you're exactly right there, Andrea.
DeleteYour permanents and fosters are saints (they must take after you, though I have yet to see an image of you in antlers and hooves!). So glad that old-man Norm is on the mend; he's a special boy. -- Kerry
ReplyDeleteJust wait until tomorrow...
DeleteI wanted to tell Abby that she wouldn't be the first female reindeer to pull the sleigh because there is an internet rumor going around that because male reindeer lose their antlers in december that the sleigh team must be female. but then I saw this, and laughed so hard I had to share it http://urbanlegends.about.com/library/bl_santas_reindeer.htm
ReplyDeleteThey all look downright adorable, but that (kitten formerly known as) Willie Rae flying is killing me
