Lookie, lookie at the little cookie who found her way to the counter top.
"Well Ruby WANTS to be here, so Ruby is GOING to be here...
So there."
"Too bad, so sad. Try getting used to it, Lady."
Gee... I wonder where she got THAT attitude from?
"Norman will just lay here not touching anything. You will get over his presence on your precious counter top."
"GET USED TO IT, LADY! AND GET SIMBA A SNACK TOO!!"
Oh yeah... THAT'S where she gets it from ;)
I feel that I must add that they are NOT allowed on any counter tops other than the island... which I clean approximately 7.4 times per day (and definitely before any food preparation/consumption happens). I'm not a complete slob, just lax on enforcing the rules.

And As Long As She's Up There...
She might as well investigate...
"Well, well, well... What have we here?"
"How tall they are, Lady..."
"And so delightful to bat around, too!"
"Come to Ruby..."
"Just a teeny tiny little taste..."
"Hmm... Crunchy, but a tad bit bland."
It is REALLY hard to be mad when she's so darn cute.
At least she stayed out of the Christmas cookies ;)

The Weekend
Lincoln and Cruz are scheduled to return to adoption hours on Saturday, sniffles and sneezes willing. Fingers crossed for big adoption news when I return on Monday!
Also on Monday, we'll look at our 2012 in review. I can't believe this year is almost over!
Awww Ruby is such a cute little teeny tabby! Love her stripes and her fur pattern.
ReplyDeleteJust a lovely little girl in her new home!
I love watching the colors and pattern develop in her fur. I swear it changes every day!
DeleteHow did the teeny kitteh get up there? surely too far for one jump? Snorfy was 8 mths before he could do a single jump up onto the benchtop and Mei Mei at 9 mths still can't get up there. Wow - pretty athletic!
ReplyDeleteIt's a two step process. There are two high stools tucked under one end of the island for an eating area. She hops to the seat of the stool (still a big jump for such a tiny kitten) and then bounces to the counter top.
Deletehahaha....we get on the counter too (ok - not the little ones) - mom says that is what wipes are for :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with adoptions!
Ha... that's why I should be buying stock in Windex and 409 :)
DeleteCounters? I don't even bother getting Oreo down from them. (Yes I DO clean them repeatedly) Table? She uses that to look through the sliding door to view the outside. How can I deny her the ability to look outside? Tree? I've almost given up on that too!
ReplyDeleteThankfully the cats stay out of the tree. The counters? Good luck... I've learned that if I don't bug them about the island, they usually stay off the rest of the counters (and the table is only for snuggling in the folded laundry)
DeleteOh Ruby...I think you are in good company on the island! And who could get mad at that face...
ReplyDeleteAnd when I woke up this morning to palm fronds shredded all over the floor? Still can't get mad at her ;)
DeleteI'm way behind, so I just caught up! You adopted Willie Rae! Ruby! Perfect name for her!
ReplyDeleteAnd oh how ornery, look at her take over already!
Congratulations and Merry Christmas!
Thank you, Andrea. That's how she ended up staying here permanently... she took over and told us how it was going to be :) Merry Christmas!
DeleteWhen I first saw that jar with the tall willowy things sticking out of it, I said that is so going to be a cat toy.. I wonder how long it will take..
ReplyDeleteguess it didn't take that long at all.
Heh heh... I'm surprised it took THIS long! The old men and other fosters have ignored those palm fronds since Palm Sunday. Guess we're lucky to have had them decorate the kitchen since last spring. ;)
