Candid Camera

Things I Wish I Had Caught on Camera...

(But I Didn't)

***Porter's scrunched-up, clenched-teeth scowl when it's medicine time.

***How Ben scales up the wicker shelves and dangles from the top at meal time so he can eat off the plate while I'm still filling it.

***How the expression in Henry's eyes change in a split second from adoration to attack-mode when a lock of my hair blows in the breeze of the ceiling fan.

**The smackdown that Uncle Norman delivered to poor baby Henry when they met face to face in the foster room.

**Penny spinning in circles while chasing her tail... on the stairs.  Penny rolling down half a flight of stairs while chasing her tail.

**The Olympic hurdles event that my two younger children staged for the kittens, using child legs as the hurdles and the feather wand to entice the boys to run the race (Eloise stayed in my lap and waited for the women's heat instead).  Actually I have pictures of that one, but the kittens are a total blur.  We'll try again tomorrow.

Something I Did Catch on Camera...

(The Sparkle Ball Princess)

Miss Eloise discovered the joy of sparkle balls over the weekend.

She spent the bulk of the day on Saturday chasing,

and catching,

and carrying her precious sparkle balls.

She fiercely guarded her prize from the boys... growling at them if they even thought about touching them.  Miss Petite Princess (all 2 pounds of her) dominated her three 5-pound brothers, who meekly deferred to her wishes.

Washing up the Paw-of-Doom just in case one of her brothers made a move on her green sparkle ball.

When she was done playing with the sparkle balls, Eloise deposited them underneath the table (behind her in this photo) to keep her siblings from putting boy cooties on her toys.

I offered her a gold medal, but all she wanted was the gold sparkle ball...

and the orange one...

or maybe the gold one again.

  1. Oh - I am like you. The kittens have done all kinds of things in the blink of an eye - just can't have the camera all the time - sigh.

re: the blurring - does your camera also take video? You may find that your camera allows you to save a still photo from the video - my sony does it in the camera. I am sure there is a bit of software that would do it too.

  2. hahaha - mom has taken to leaving the camera around just in case - but we get lots of fuzzy pictures sometimes too. And yeah to Eloise and the "girl power".

  5. Caspian ( the smallest 'Mater) has figured out how to get on top of the dresser when I'm preparing their snack, so he can start eating while I'm still preparing it. I pretend to be annoyed, but I secretly love it just a little bit.

My favorite thing about medicating kittens is when you squirt the medicine in their mouth and they run away like they're trying to outrun the taste. :)

The sparkle ball princess needs a sparkly tiara!
