Tuxies on Thursday

"Hellooooooo"

"Okaaaaaaay. Max will be behave so you can take pictures of EVERYbody."

"But Max is the cutest, right? RIGHT?"

"GARNET does not appreciate being ignored whilst in the middle of a tuxie sandwich!"

"And Garnet will NOT be ignored, Torii!"

"And Garnet's butt is NOT a pillow either... so there!"

"Sheesh. What's HER problem?"

*******************************************

All kittens (both Mayweather and All Stars) have returned to health and will be attending an adoption event this weekend. If you're local and interested in meeting the crew, send me a message at teenytinytabbies AT gmail DOT com to find out where and when. The three who have already had their surgeries (Garnet, Belle, Miguel) will obviously be available to go home sooner... after the verification period set by the rescue. The two girls who still have yet to be spayed (Maxie and Princess Torii) will be there for the meet and greet as well. We will take applications on them and wait for the surgeries to make final decisions. Pass the word if you know someone in the market for kittens. These guys are so special that I'm tempted to keep at least one of them each and every day.

Pretty As A...

Princess Torii!

Someone is starting to feel much more comfortable around here.

She's even interested in a slight sliver of her share of attention when I enter the room.

"Hey Lady... Look at ME!"

Even if her soul patch gives her a Machiavellian appearance...

And her regal coloring and imperious glare make her look daunting...
She can be a bit of a ham when she wants to be.

Princess Torii is really just one of the gang...

Who doesn't mind putting photobombers in their place.

"Psst! Don't look at Princess... Look at Max!"

Tigers on Tuesday

So, I'm a little late... so were the Tigers. The kids and I arrived at the ballpark at 5 p.m. for a 7:05 game. We left after 11 p.m. and the game was still going. Wednesday morning is going to come MUCH too early!

The reason for a mid-week, school-night, early trip in to the ballpark?

Procuring one of these was a top priority.

It was Miguel Cabrera bobble head night at the ball park in honor of the reigning Triple Crown champion (and this year's leader in Batting Average and RBI)

Oh yeah, we went to see the game too.

We cheered extra hard for the kittens' namesakes.

Batting second and playing Right Field... Torii Hunter.

Batting third and playing Third Base... Miguel Cabrera.

Batting clean up and playing First Base... Prince Fielder.

Okay, so Max Scherzer wasn't pitching but they DID interview him on the scoreboard.

I realize most of this is relatively unimportant to you.

The really important part was what the kitten thought of his bobble head.

"It really looks nothing like Miggy, you know."

The Best Laid Plans

What's that they say? Men make plans and God laughs? Well here in Teeny Tiny Tabby Town, the saying goes a bit differently. I'm pretty sure the kitten version goes something like this... "The Lady makes plans and the kittens laugh."

When last I left you, we were torturing kittens with the intent of taking Maxie and Princess Torii to the vet early Friday morning for their spay procedures. Well... the kittens were appropriately starved and upset on Friday morning. We did make the 13.8 mile trip down to the vet's office. That's where the plan ran off the rails.

After dropping off the girls, I drove most of the 13.8 miles back home to run an errand or two and take care of a dog client before going in to work for the day. About a half-hour later, I received a phone call. The girls were starting to show signs of upper respiratory and they were advising against the surgery. Now keep in mind that I dropped off two kittens who might have had slightly goopy eyes, but when I drove the 13.8 miles back to the vet clinic? This is what I found...

Actually, this is a cleaned up version of what I found... Swollen eye membranes, major amounts of white goop leaking from the eyes, and a plugged up snotty nose for Miss Maxie. I'm guessing she was saving it up for surgery day. I made plans for her and she laughed. Surgery has been postponed for two weeks while the girls finish a course of antibiotics.

Final Score: Maxie and Princess 2, The Lady 0

They're already looking a bazillion times better after a weekend of antibiotics. Now let's just hope that the others don't get any ideas.

Three kittens (the ones who weren't on antibiotics) traveled to an adoption event on Saturday. The Mayweather girls attended their second ever event while Senor Miguel went to his very first. The nerves were running a bit high, but they seemed to comfort each other throughout the afternoon.

Belle and Miggy holding paws.

The girls took a "If we can't see them, they can't see us" attitude throughout the day.

After their first day at the store, I swore that I would paint an orange splotch on Belle's head so that she would receive the amount of attention that her sister did that day. As it turned out, it wasn't necessary. Belle was the rock star of the day, receiving the majority of the attention for her gorgeous marbled coat-of-many-colors and her calm and even disposition. She was snuggled by several people and even purred for some of them. While we're still working on finding that perfect home for her, I'm pretty happy with her showing.

Garnet was still a bundle of nerves, but did better than last time. She refused snuggles from strangers, but found her way to a couple of shoulders for a better view of the store. And Miggy?

Miggy became my purring lap kitty for the afternoon.

Yeah, I wasn't excited about that at all ;)

"Thank you for bringing me back home, Lady. There's no place like home... even if Miggy likes to pretend he hates it here."

Torture on Thursday

"Excuse me, Lady? Are you aware that our food has disappeared? How about we work a trade? You bring the food and we'll clean up this mess of a window for you."

"No? No food? Clean it your own darn self, then. We'll get to work messing it back up when you're done."

No food again tonight because our last two munchkins are scheduled to be spayed Friday morning.

"Spayed? That sounds familiar..."

"Lemme check something here."

"YAY! Garnet's already done! Have fun tomorrow, Maxie and Princess... NOT!"

"Sorry, Lady... Belle cannot let you take her. Do you KNOW what they did to us last week?
DO YOU???"

"Max does not think she likes the sound of that word... spay."

"Maybe if Maxie is extra cute and lovey, you will let her stay here instead?"

"The cute's not working, huh?"

"You're dismissed, minion. Maxie is done with you."

I'll let you know when the girls are home.

Meanwhile, in the garden...

Thank you, Norman and Einstein.

I truly didn't expect this kind of bounty in September.

Neither did I expect the Norm statue to wear flowers as a jaunty hat.

Grizzly's working it too. Yay :)

Hair Do or Hair Don't?

Excuse me, Miguel?

Have you been letting your sisters fix your hair?

"Listen, Lady... How many times does Miggy have to tell you that he has FUR,
NOT hair?"

"Miggy does his OWN fur, thank you very much. Just a little bit of spit and a box fan is all he needs to make it stand up on end like that."

"Do not judge the kitten. You use a blowy thing on your fur too. Besides... It was HOT today!"

Also, feel free to squee at that tail. I do believe this is the first time I've been able to bring it to you in all of its stripey glory.
